Heating of the Jakkukylä school from oil to air-water heat pump, Ii

The Jakkukylä school (1152 brm2) used to burn light fuel oil in a boiler. In the municipality of Ii, efforts have been made to completely abandon oil heating, so it was decided to purchase a water-to-air heat pump as a new form of heating. Peak and backup heating is provided by electric resistors.

The investment consists of the following:

  • Purchase of water to air heat pump
  • Demolition of old oil boiler
  • Automation
  • Heating system modifications and heat pump installation costs

The savings achieved are the difference between the costs of the old and the new heating method. In addition to being environmentally friendlier, the new way is economically viable. The annual savings are over 10000 €.
