School to wood chip heating, Ii Olhava

Olhava School switched from oil heating to wood chips.

The current oil boiler remained as a backup heat. The new wood chip boiler is located in the school yard in a container solution. Heat is supplied from the container via a conduit to the existing boiler room. Ii municipality buys heat from a local heating contractor and they have made a long-term contract. This also keeps money inside the municipality to support local work.

Wood chips are quite environmental friendly energy source
